Feelings on a Sunday afternoon

This week has been pretty interesting. I realized that i am always going to be learning new things things each day. This past Friday I was hit hard in the forehead by reality. I was with my roommate that at his friend's house, and somewhere around 11:30 a young man came in. He was falling all over the room and saying he was going to hit somebody. In other words, he was out of his mind. I later found out that he had been doing some cocaine earlier that day. As i sat across the room in deep thought, i waited hoping that this situation would soon pass. Walker, a friend of mine that lives in the dorm with me, came over and started talking to be about life and its choices. He reminded me that last year he was caught with some (weed), and he is currently still in rehab, so he has to stay away from it. He said that once you screw up, thinking about the young man on cocaine, it is hard to forgive yourself for those mistakes. Walker said that he is much better now and understands that he controls the decisions he makes. He thanked me for not judging him in the beginning when we first met. He said that he looked at me and saw the example that i set. He considers me a great friend and example for him.

I guess in thinking about that night, you never realize the impact that you have on somebody. Walker told me that he didnt know how i could have so much fun hanging out with people, and still manage to get my work done and maintain my grades.

People are always watching you, whether you know it or not. Of course you know that there is One that is always watching where you think about Him or not. I encourage each and everyone of you who reads to continue walking in the light of the Lord. If you do it in the right manner it will never be in vain. Always look to him for guidance and let HIS light shine through you to others.

Us PBs are stronger in our example that we set than we think. One word, phone call, or visit, can make all of the difference in the world. Be strong and fight the good fight of faith that we face each and every day.

Two Posts in One Night.Cheers to our Weekend!

Well i must say that i love it when PB boys go to the farm and get some MUD ON THE TIRES. Here are some pics. We got stuck and it began to snow. Also, Potato Guns are sweet. Since both trucks were stuck, we had to call Sister Sharon to pull us out with the Lexus. There is something to say about a car that has front-wheel drive. Thanks guys for a great saturday.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was definitely different this year. For me and several other college freshman, it was our first v-day away from home. We were quickly reminded that instead of February 14, being Valentine's Day, it was actually single's awareness day. All of us without special someones didnt go out. If you were single and didnt really think anything about it, you were reminded to think about it by single's awareness day. For people like me, who really dont have a deep interest in relationships at this point in their life, it was interesting to watch people react to this hidden holiday. It is good to have a postive out look on Single's Awarness Day. Think about it this way: Girls you can thank God that you are not ready to put up with us guys yet. And Guys you can thank God that you are not ready to sit down to understand why women are... the way they are. Happy Single's Awareness Day.

Friend, what does it mean?

In light of my conversations with people, i thought it was time to explain the definition of friend.

Websters: a person whom one knows well and is fond of.

Websters 1828: one who is attached to another by affection; one who entertains for another sentiments of esteem, respect, and affection, which lead him to desire his company, and to seek to promote his happiness and prosperity. ex. There is a friend which sticketh closer than a brother.

A poem that Adam gave to me on my graduation night:

Day by day the time passes by.
A blink and a moment,
And we've passed through our lives.
As we sit and reflect on all the lost time,
We remember the people who are kept in our minds.

Though our eyes may dim,
The memories burn bright.
For they are our joy,
And they are our light.

Loved ones, to often, come and they go,
But they all leave their place
In our hearts as we grow.
So that when we look back,
When we're grey and we're old.
Those loved ones still cheer us
At the bends of our roads.

The reason for these thoughts, I give unto you,
Is to cause you to Stop.
And to these people be true.
For they are your loved ones,
The ones, who for you,
At the drop of a hat,
Or a phone call, or two,
Whould be right by your side.
To come to your aid,
Or strengthen your stride.

So remember these people,
In far away lands.
Cause' they are your True Ones,
Your Loved Ones,
Your Friends.

This peom reminds me of why I am to be aware of the people I choose to hang around. This post is not to get all mushy and lovey. This is a warning. Friends come and they go, but the TRUE ONES are there forever. Never lose sight of who you really are. Christ is the friend that sticketh closer than a brother. We are to follow in his example. Adam gave me my name "Reya." It means brother and friend. Our friendship is something us PBs have that other denominations dont have. Grab it and cling close to it, and it will never fade.
